Backup4Sure is backup software that was released by EtalonSoft on June 26, 2002. The program offers easy interface and primary backup features. There are Standard and Lite editions available. This article describes Backup4Sure Standard, which offers backup to CD, backup to CDRW, backup to ISO image file and exclude filters in addition to all the Lite version features.

The general benefits of backup are clear: you don't lose your important data or the work you have just done if your hard drive or the whole computer crashes. It's better to have a backup copy on some external storage media and backup to CD can distinctly help you. Backup4Sure Standard can back up local and networked files and folders and compress them to save storage capacity. The process can be done automatically if you set up a schedule. Another option is folder synchronization. If you want to backup data to CD, the program will offer you integrated CD/CDRW burner. With backup to CD you can span to multiple disks and use checksum error detection to see if your backup copy is burned correctly.

What we didn't like about the program is the lack of functionality - no automatic Microsoft Outlook backup, no ICQ backup, no mail server backup, etc. The program also doesn't offer backup to remote locations. However, if you only need to back up folders and files and backup to CD is the main backup destination you need, Backup4Sure Standard edition can meet your requirements and become an instrument that is very useful for you.
